Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies

J-STD-001 is the soldering standard most electronics manufacturers build to. This certification shows your solderers understand the materials, methods and acceptance criteria behind a reliable joint, and that they can produce one at the bench.

The class blends classroom review of the standard with graded hands-on work, so every certified student has proven the skill, not just passed a test.

Who it’s for

Experienced hand solderers, assemblers, solder technicians, inspectors and process engineers. This is a certification class, not a beginner soldering course, so students should already be soldering in production.

Recertification

Currently certified? The recertification class runs about 2 to 2.5 days for all modules. Schedule it within 6 months before your expiration date to stay current without a gap.
