Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Harness Assemblies
IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the industry's standard for cable and wire harness assemblies. Students learn to apply it to accept and reject decisions, and to use the same terms as the customers and auditors who rely on it.
The course is modular, so a crimping technician and a coax specialist can each take what applies to their work.
Who it’s for
Harness builders, cable technicians, inspectors and quality staff working with wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
Hands-on add-on
A 1 to 1.5 day bench session where students prepare wire, build and inspect crimps, splices and solder terminations, and choose the right wire size and tooling. Practical exams require 80% to pass. It is taken with or within 90 days after the base A-620 certification, and students should already have basic cable-building experience. Completion is noted on the base certificate.
